Barcelona Circular (BAC) is the new hub of economic activity dedicated to the circular economy and digital transformation of industry in Barcelona. Promoted by Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, the Faculty of Business Studies at Mondragon University, part of MONDRAGON, and TeamLabs, it aims to boost the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses in the city through the creation of new business models.
How do we do it? We train TEAMS to obtain the best proposals in times of uncertainty. We are a PROTOTYPING COMMUNITY. We bring together YOUNG TALENT and EXPERTS to respond to the major challenges in these changing times.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND
BUSINESS MODELS
A space open to companies, entities and organisations committed to innovation, determined to promote the circular economy and respond to the priority challenges as demanded by society. It has a COWORKING space, a digital manufacturing WORKSHOP, and a workshop for optimising materials and reducing waste.
TALENT AND TRAINING
Training courses are highly practical in nature and connected to real life and businesses. Currently, the official university degree LEINN (Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation) and the Master’s Degree in Strategic Management of People Talent are being delivered following the ‘learning by doing’ methodology, both of which are offered by Mondragon University. Likewise, tailor-made training courses are provided to develop teams and innovation within companies.

INNOVATION
Innova Industria Besòs Programme. Barcelona Circular includes an INNOVATION LABORATORY for INDUSTRIAL SMEs, which aims to respond to relevant challenges through innovation processes and prototyping solutions. We work together with TeamLabs, Hirekin and Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria, Mondragon University’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems.
COMMUNITY
BAC is a space for collaboration and innovation, where young entrepreneurial talent coexists and interacts with leaders in the city’s circular economy and industry through a programme related to innovation, business model transformation, leadership, entrepreneurship, the circular economy and Industry 4.0. It is a space open to events organised by companies and organisations.

Discover the digital
manufacturing workshop
An open and collaborative prototyping space, designed to foster creativity and innovation. A dynamic environment that enables the exploration of new ideas, the creation of functional prototypes, and the realisation of projects through advanced digital technologies. Within the framework of the circular economy, the workshop promotes sustainability, efficient use of resources and waste reduction, encouraging responsible and regenerative production.

The workshop has the following techniques and machines: ___ 3D: 3D printers (of different sizes and materials such as resin, ceramics, thermoplastic filaments, etc.), filament extruder, thermoforming machine, and 3D scanner. ___ Textiles: sewing machines, embroidery machines, heat transfer presses, mini heat presses, etc. ___ Cutting plotters: small and large format vinyl cutters. ___ CNC: milling machine. ___ Laser cutter: 2 CO2 laser cutters and 1 metal laser cutter. ___ Electronics: soldering iron, Elegoo Arduino Kit, and Arduino LilyPad. ___ Audiovisual: light box and microphones. ___ Printing: inkjet printer and DTF (direct to film) printer. ___ Manual tools: electric stapler, paint spray guns, Kärcher, heat gun, laminator, electric polishers, etc. |

Where are we?
BAC is located in a former 3,400 m² industrial building in Barcelona’s Sant Andreu district, refurbished in line with circular economy principles applied to construction.
This pioneering circular construction project promotes the use of safe, recyclable, and biodegradable materials, following the Cradle to Cradle philosophy so that resources retain their value over time.
